December 6, 2017 - Reported [here]. Jesus wears blue jeans and other stories of near-death experiences. Now I lay me down to sleep, I pray the Lord my soul to keep, and if I shall die before I wake, I pray the Lord my soul to take. You could say Cynthia Lawson has nine lives. She clinically died from the deadliest kind of heart attack but was resuscitated to tell the tale – recounting details about what exactly happened in the emergency room in the moments that her heart stopped beating. “[The Doctor] looked at me and he said it’s a miracle that you’re here,” Lawson said.

She shocked doctors with a play-by-play account of the chaos. And while they were reviving her lifeless body, Cynthia said, she was sucked into a dark tunnel where she was joined by angels, who shared a message. “There is no time for hate, that was the main message,” Lawson said. “We are all connected. It’s all love. That’s what it all boils down to.”

She also met someone she believes is Jesus – although he looked a little different than she imagined. He wore blue jeans. “He was in the ambulance with me. He was gentle,” said Lawson. It’s been two months since her near-death experience, and Cynthia is still trying to piece it together. Cynthia’s near-death-experience is one of thousands reported across the country. While the scientific community has largely ignored the phenomenon, neurologists like Dr. Tyson Burghardt do not discount the experience. Whether people believe her or not, Cynthia says she is confident in her experience and she feels tasked with sharing her story with others. “I think that’s why it happened for me – to tell others, especially,” said Lawson.
